Scandi Jam 2012- Scandinavian dance workshops and Dance Party

Popular veteran instructors Don Meyers and Kathi Ploeger of Skandia Folkdance Society, Seattle  bring their proven instructional skills and sense of humor to Salt Lake City. Decades of experience, including multiple competitions and testing in Sweden and Norway, yield a rich experience for participants in their Nordic Dance Workshops.
They will teach Fundamentals of Scandinavian Dance. Beginners learn basic skills necessary for successful turning dancing and partnering for Waltz, Polka, Snoa and Hambo. Experienced dancers will have an opportunity to sharpen their skills. Partners not required. Musicians’ workshop led by accomplished accordionist Dave Sealander of Idaho Falls, will introduce techniques of playing Scandinavian music for dancing and enjoyment. Catered Scandinavian dinner, 6pm and Dance Party, 7:30-9:30pm.

Workshops may be attended individually, but are cumulative; we recommend and encourage attending as many sessions as possible! Space is limited, register early. Partners and singles welcome; workshops are appropriate for ages 12 and up. Sm
